Forging Ahead

My name is Cameron Slayton, I'm doing a renaissance class on blacksmithing with my dad at our house. 

My study proposal is to learn the baiscs blacksmithing with my dad and try to set up a forge station. I want learn these skills so I can set up my own shop when I get out of college for business. What got me into blacksmithing is I watched a lot of videos on blacksmithing and I said I want to do that for a career when I get out of school. I like the idea of make cool sculpture and blades out of metal pieces. 

Me and my dad are trying to find all of the materials for the class. We need to get hammers and anivil to start working. The forge right now is just a wood stove that my dad made when he waas in highschool we are trying to find a better my to the forge hot enough to get the metal to glow.
